About Adam

Psychological understanding, rooted in the human experience

Adam El Turaify

PhD Researcher, Health Studies (Mental Health), University of Nottingham
MSc Clinical Psychology
MSc Psychology, University of South Wales
BPS Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC)

I bring together contemporary psychology and the traditional teachings of Islamic spirituality, especially Sufism (Tasawwuf) and tazkiyat al-nafs — the development and purification of the self.

My professional experience includes working with people facing mental health difficulties, neurodivergent challenges, substance misuse, emotional distress and complex life circumstances.

My teaching and therapeutic approach draw on Sufi teachings and Islamically integrated psychological principles. I explore how self-understanding, emotional awareness, practical change and spiritual meaning can inform one another.

People of all cultural and religious backgrounds are welcome. Spiritual content is included in individual work only where the person wishes to explore it.
